Thank you

It's the time of year when I want to say thank you.. a lot! To teachers, music teachers, Brownie and Scout leaders etc.

I used a really simple design with my new funky flowers set by Wendy Vecchi studio 490 purchased from the Crafty Boots stash savers club. I'd made quite a few and given them away when I realised I hadn't blogged them. The flowers were all different colours and I got a chance to try out my Tim holtz spring and summer distress inks. Quick simple and cute.

On a similar theme I did some bunting cards using the free bunting stamp from Craft Stamper which is just my favourite magazine at the moment. A little distressing with seedless preserves and a trio of pearl stickies finished them off!

Babies

Crafty Boots Challenge this time is Babies. It is a very poignant challenge.
Babies are such a gift. I made this tag with friends in mind who have just had their beloved son after many years of waiting.

I cut a tag and a page of a childrens encyclopedia found in a charity shop. I struggle cutting up books but this ones cover was mouldy so fair game.I used my favourite Tim Holtz flourish stamp and a wooden satmp of a cradle I picked up in a sale bin.The distress inls I used were broken china and vintage photo. The flowers were light pink so I inked them to a light brown. The metal plate was finished off with brads and the New Baby stamp.

Crafty Boots bingo - Inspire!

When a special friend of mine thad a special birthday (yep that one again!) I wanted give something that she could keep. I've known her since my first night at halls at Polytechnic (you can tell how old I am!) She and my friends from college inspired me to be creative. Kate especially with sewing and cooking. I learnt lots from everyone there and it gave me a taste of the world outside my family. Super. Happy 40th Kate, hopefully this is something that she can hang in her home across the ocean and think of her daft friend back here in the UK.

It's my contribution to the Crafty Boots Design team challenge - Bingo, with green, yellow, ribbon and lace set by Denise in homeage to her US roots..perfect for a friend who lives there.  Have a go and see what you can come up with.

I used mount board as a base. I mod podged on a couple of english/german dictionary as a based and then covered the whole lot in antique paper distress stain. I used a watered down acrylic eco green  paint in ocean for a rough brush round the edges and then used watermelon through the Tando random circles mask. The stamp is the bubble gum tree from Unity and the flowers were cut using a Paper Artsy Grunge flower die in an off cut of basic grey paper (not sure which one, sorry) and then swooshed with acrylic paint and sprtized with sunshine yellow perfect pearls. A Tim Holts memo pin with an adage ticket and two hitch fasteners to hang it by fininshed it off.

Lilli's Olympic challenge

Lilli has decided to enter the Crafty Boots Olmypic challenge.

Lilli used a Portabello road embossing folder, hand drew the olmpic rings and added jubilee bows from the portabello road range. A great card!
